I'll keep looking, and shopping eBay for the best deal until the market offers something better. It's a shame it morphed into a newly named online version or I'd still be using it. Incidentally, the old Microsoft Money had it all over Quicken. I ran into issues almost immediately with the trial version. My conclusion was that those who think it's awesome couldn't possibly be dealing with the number of financial institutions and reports I use. So, I looked at MoneyDance as a desktop based alternative. Nevertheless, I completely understand the frustration of the average home user who wants a convenient online interface and has become stuck with being fleeced annually in order to have it.Īlternatives? I'm not comfortable with online versions of financial management applications because of the amount of data I'm working with. $60 - $70 a year is a relatively small price to pay as a business expense. Like many other users, I'm not happy about the ongoing subscription. I'm hoping the market will offer more alternatives before next year. Quicken later offered a little better online deal per year on a two year subscription. The eBay seller's offer at a price significantly under retail made this purchase much more attractive. QuickBooks would be overkill for what I do and quite expensive. Quicken's web connectivity is recognized by the substantial number of banks, credit card companies, and credit unions I deal with in my small business. I'm satisfied with the functionality and expandability to mobile and other PC's.
This version is less temperamental than my older one, even with the few bank interface glitches I've experienced.
